Item Description

Some of the finest world-class Aquamarine specimens have been found in the various pegmatite localities in Pakistan, which has been the most productive country for specimens in the last 30+ years. Most people associate Pakistani Aquas with the Shigar Valley, but nearby in Nagar, some really gorgeous pieces have been found for many years. This attractive and showy small cabinet piece features a predominant, sharp, glassy, GEMMY, soft blue color, hexagonal prismatic crystal of Aquamarine which is associated with several additional Aquas (one of which is WATER CLEAR) sitting atop bladed groups of silvery Muscovite. The main crystal measures 4.3 cm long and has a classic basal termination with elegant small modifying 1st and 2nd order pyramidal modifications. The edges of the specimen might appear to be broken, but if you look closely, you will see dozens of tiny reflective crystallized faces everywhere, which means the piece is virtually crystallized all over, and is nearly a complete "floater". A fine quality, A lovely thumbnail sized display specimen of this classic material from Chumar Bakhoor.
