Item Description
When it comes to Aquamarine, Pakistan is the most productive country for specimens in the last 20 years. Some of the very finest quality Aquamarine specimens come from the various pegmatites in the Pakistani Himalayas, including the pieces from the famous Nagar region. This piece hosts two intergrown, gemmy and lustrous Aquamarine crystals on bladed silvery Muscovite form a fine miniature from Chumar Bakhoor. The glassy, limpid to translucent crystals are very light blue with iron oxide tinting causing the yellow-brown-green colors. Interestingly, one aqua termination is glass-clear, while the other is etched. The Aquas are actually doubly-terminated if you look closely on the underside, and the piece is nearly a complete "floater", as it's almost crystallized all the way around with very little point of attachment. The largest Aquamarine crystal measures 3.0 cm. Valued at $650.
