Aquamarine with Muscovite

Pingwu has produced some amazing gemmy Aquamarines over the last 30 plus years that are unique in form compared to other localities around the world, and very beautiful as well. Essentially all Pingwu Aquamarines are tabular in form, which is rare in habit for this Beryl varietal; they resemble Morganite in form rather than Aquamarine. Here we have at least four pale blue, glassy Aquamarine crystals in a very nicely composed grouping. The tabular Aquas range in size from 2 to 4.5 cm across and they are incredibly glassy and very transparent with only minor internal fracturing and some veiled inclusions that keeps them from being totally gem. The crystals are hexagonal in form on the broad flat faces and there are small, diamond-shaped prism faces present along some of the sides of the crystals along with small, slanted faces representing first order pyramid faces too. There are several other smaller tabular Aquas in the central area where the crystals converge and also a few around the edges. The back of the piece is totally covered in sparkling silver Muscovite crystals from 2 to 5 mm in size and some of these are present around the periphery of the piece and present on parts of the front edges. This is a very bright and well-balanced Aquamarine piece from Pingwu!
