Aquamarine with Muscovite

Without question, some of the finest world-class Aquamarine specimens, ever found are those from the various pegmatite localities in Pakistan. I think it's fair to say that Pakistan has been the most productive or at least the most impressive country for Aquamarine specimens in the last 30+ years, especially from the standpoint of matrix piece. Most people associate Pakistani Aquas with the Shigar Valley, but nearby in Nagar, some really gorgeous pieces have been found for many years. This attractive and showy piece features a group of fine quality, sharp, glassy, GEMMY, soft blue color, hexagonal prismatic crystals of Aquamarine associated with bladed groups of silvery Muscovite. The main Aquamarine crystal measures 4.7 cm and has a classic basal termination with elegant small modifying pyramidal faces on the corners. The underside of the specimen might appear to be broken, but if you look closely, you will see dozens of tiny reflective crystallized faces everywhere ("re-healed" faces), which means the piece is virtually crystallized all over. I even found a little "cat's eye" section in one of the Aquas on the underside of the piece as well.
