Item Description
This is a dramatic large specimen of aquamarine on its own merit, and as a bonus it has two subtly-colored octohedral fluorites perched in the middle of the aqua cluster! Each fluorite is approximately an inch, transparent and gemmy, and brilliantly sparkling from many etched faces. I have seen the association before, of course, but usually its a fluorite sittign at the edge of a plate, or loose and isolated on mica - seldom do you see the fluorites actually in the midst of the aquas. The plate is nearly pristine, despite its size, which seems a minor miracle of survival. With at least a dozen good large aquas, and the overall dinner-plate-sized display volume here, this is a dramatic piece that is highly representative of this contempoary locality. It weighs in at 4.6 pounds, thus over 2 kilos.
