Item Description
When it comes to Aquamarine, Pakistan is the most productive country for specimens in the last 20 years. Some of the very finest quality Aquamarine specimens come from the various pegmatites in the Paki Himalayas, especially the pieces from around Shigar. This locality has produced some of the most exciting Aquamarine specimens in recent years. A fine, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, soft blue color, prismatic crystal of Aquamarine sits atop a mound of crystallized white Feldspar, but the most interesting aspect of the piece is the fact that there is a smaller secondary crystal with a most unusual compressed, tabular form! This habit is RARELY seen in Beryl, and this is certainly one of the few of its kind that I have seen. The piece can be displayed from several angles, and possibly the best matrix for Aquas is white Feldspar. A very attractive matrix display specimen with good aesthetics from this most pretigious of Pakistani pegmatite localities.
