Aquamarine (unusually tabular crystal)

Item Description

The majority of the Aquamarine crystals I've seen from Myanmar are elongated prisms, so I was really surprised to see this notably and unusually tabular crystal from Mogok. The piece is doubly-terminated, and virtually a complete "floater", as it's crystallized all the way around. Each of the broad pinacoid terminations on both sides feature tiny "stepped" / layered faces, creating an almost "rosette"-like effect. The color ranges from a fairly saturated blue shade on the exterior to a much softer blue color in the center. A really unique and different kind of Beryl crystal that would make a fine addition to any thumbnail suite, a collection of gem crystals or Beryls, or even a suite of minerals from Myanmar.
