Item Description
A really unusual, and totally unique Aquamarine specimen from the famous locality at Shengus in Pakistan. If one were to turn this specimen over and look at the underside of the piece, it would appear to be a simple hexagonal Beryl crystal. But when the display side of the piece is viewed, one can clearly see that this piece is different! The crystal is not only multi-terminated, it essentially looks like it comprises several, compressed, tabular hexagonal crystals that are intergrown. The piece actually had an interrupted growth in the center (caused by a "ball" of white Albite) creating a unique "hollow" effect to the specimen. It would be as if several crystals were arranged around a center point to make a "tube" of Aquamarine. Overall, the piece has great blue color, excellent gemminess/translucency, sharp faces, good luster and totally unique form! A small amount of contacts to do not take away from the great quality and aesthetic appeal that is rarely seen in a crystal off matrix. Honestly, I cannot remember seeing another Aquamarine specimen like this from any locality. A cool gem crystal display specimen for any collector. Valued at $1100.
