A striking, very showy, yet bizzare looking large aquamarine combination plate from the Erongos. The fantastically etched feldspar matrix hosts aesthetically scattered aquamarine crystals and a single 3.3 cm terminated schorl. The glassy and lustrous aquas reach 4.3 cm. The large grayish-blue crystal has a crackly interior. The other four aquas have typical fine blue color with crackly bodies and gem terminations, especially the beautiful upright 3.1 cm aqua. Surreal highlights are the very sharp casted hexagonal areas in the feldspar, where aqua crystals were dissolved away! And there are more small gemmy aquas on the back, as a bonus. A most unusual, fascinating and excellent large aquamarine combination from the Shields Flynn Collection. Pink feldspar fluorescence! Valued at $1250-1500.
