Aquamarine (rich color)

I've seen Aquamarine crystals from Mogok that range in color from virtually colorless to a rich blue color (almost too dark to truly be considered Aquamarine, they should just be called BLUE BERYL). This piece is certainly on the darker end of the spectrum as it features a strong blue color. This large thumbnail / toenail sized specimen is a complete hexagonal prism with attractive striations running the length of the crystal, along with a partial coating of minor Muscovite for a nice contrast. What's most interesting about the piece is that it has an angled pyramidal termination, that which is not commonly seen in Beryl. Additionally when the crystal is backlit, you can see that it's rather gemmy, even bordering on WATER CLEAR in areas.
