Item Description
A seldom seen Aquamarine crystal from the Audrey Lynn Mine in Riverside County, California. The piece features a robust, sharp, GEMMY, pale icy blue colored hexagonal prism of Aquamarine with an additional sidecar crystal, and no matrix. The back / underside of the crystal is not complete after it detached from the pocket wall. As mentioned, internally the main crystal is very gemmy, nearly water clear, but you can't really see it unless you view the piece through the basal termination, as the prism faces are bit frosted and don't allow the internal quality to shine through. We've only had a handful of these crystals from this lesser known locality for sale over the years, so don't miss out this one, as it's one of the larger and finer quality examples we've had. Priced at $1,200 in the inventory. From the collection of Bill Larson of Fallbrook, California. Bill is a well-known gem and mineral dealer as well as a miner and collector. Bill is synonymous with minerals of San Diego County, and owned and operated famous mines such as the Stewart Lithia, the Tourmaline Queen, the Pala Chief and the Himalaya, producing some of the most iconic mineral specimens to come out of the area during the 1970s-1980s. Bill is also known as "Burma Bill" and traveled the world for decades in search of fine gems and minerals, and was directly involved in the in-person acquisition and importation of superb specimens and stones from Myanmar (Burma).
