Item Description
A rarely seen specimen of Aquamarine from the Pack Rat Mine, as a matter of fact, this is the first piece of this material that we've had to offer ON MATRIX in the auctions from this locality. This toenail sized specimen features a fantastic, GEMMY, sharp, well-formed, hexagonal prism with a light blue color sitting on beige colored Microcline matrix. If you view the crystal from one end down the "c" axis, you can see right through the crystal because it's nearly WATER CLEAR. If you collect Aquamarines/Beryls, pegmatite minerals, or San Diego County minerals, this is an excellent example to add to your collection. Priced at $1,000. From the collection of Bill Larson of Fallbrook, California. Bill is a well-known gem and mineral dealer as well as a miner and collector. Bill is synonymous with minerals of San Diego County, and owned and operated famous mines such as the Stewart Lithia, the Tourmaline Queen, the Pala Chief and the Himalaya, producing some of the most iconic mineral specimens to come out of the area during the 1970s-1980s. Bill is also known as "Burma Bill" and traveled the world for decades in search of fine gems and minerals, and was directly involved in the in-person acquisition and importation of superb specimens and stones from Myanmar (Burma).
