Aquamarine on Schorl

Here we have a robust Schorl crystal with a companion Aquamarine prism from the Erongo Mountains in Namibia. The striated and lustrous nearly jet-black Scorl is nicely terminated at the top with a well developed pyramidal termination with the opposing end roughly terminated largely due to parallel fibrous growth of the Tourmaline on that end. We qualify the color because the black has a green tint to it, and that, combined with the fibrous terminated end, makes us wonder if it's not Foitite! The Tourmaline is contacted on the backside. A translucent, light blue, 1.8 cm, terminated Aquamarine crystals protrudes out of one side of the Schorl at an acute angle for added aesthetics, and there is a remnant of an Aqua crystal on the opposite side.
