Aquamarine on Quartz (ex Willard Wulff Collection)

A hard to find matrix specimen of old time Aquamarine from Brazil. Before Pakistan, it was rare to find Aquamarine crystals on matrix, and this piece is honestly such a rich blue hue, it's darker than the vast majority of Aquamarines in the world. The Aqua crystal measures 3.6 cm sitting on Quartz matrix. This specimen comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. The piece comes with a typed label from Wulff on one of his famous 3x5 index cards that states the piece was acquired from Discount Agate House in Tucson, Arizona.
