Aquamarine on Muscovite (New Find)

Two well-placed large aquamarine crystals dominate and highlight this sculptural large combination plate from new finds at the pegmatites at Nagar. All of the glassy, lustrous, gemmy to translucent aquas pretty ice-blue color. The imposing, large 10.5 cm, terminated aqua is very interesting - you can readily see that part of the crystal is naturally fractured and partially recrystallized, due to tectonic movement in the pegmatite. The secondary, 5.0 cm, terminated, textbook hexagonal aqua has a nifty, small "smokestack" crystal embedded in the termination. The fracture in this crystal delineates gemmier, pretty lighter blue color at the termination above darker blue, more translucent aquamarine below. The scattered small aquas amidst the jackstraw, pearlescent muscovite plates are fine complements and typical accessories. The bit of noted periphery wear has minimal impact to the showiness of the specimen. Mass is 1375 grams or 3.0 pounds. An unusual and interesting large combination from Nagar.
