Aquamarine on Muscovite

The obvious "star" of this set of auctions is this $4,000 specimen of aquamarine on matrix. It has it all: big size, fine gem crystals, and wonderful form. It has a look of real "significance" to it. The larger crystal measures 3 cm not only in height, but also across the termination, so it is a real chunker. Growing into it is a 4-cm crystal, and there are a few smaller crystals nearby. The muscovites are particularly large and well-defined, which adds a lot to the aesthetics. It is hard to decide which way to display this specimen, because it is good from both sides; but I prefer if from the side that shows off the larger, gemmier crystal in the center of the matrix. Honestly, it will be a crime if this goes for under $3,000, even in these "hard times", and it really should go for the full $4,000 or more.
