Item Description

Rising majestically from a feldspar matrix and pearlescent, muscovite crystals to 2.5 cm in length, is a dramatic splayed cluster of glassy and gemmy, sky-blue aqua crystals, each exhibiting beautifully modified terminations with sharp edges and bevels. The largest crystal measures 8 cm in length. This is a GORGEOUS piece, of good size and of high quality. It is complete all around, and is trimmed to a perfect balance to the matrix, to my eye. I obtained it as a larger piece an dhad it worked down. While aquas from Nagar are common enough, pieces with this kind of aesthetics are not at all common, especially at a fair price. I could easily see this piece priced at $7500-10,000 at a show, particularly with certain of my colleagues that do not direct-source or get so many fixer-uppers which leave a little room on the table. I came out well on the result here, and am able to auction it, trusting to a good result. The mass is a whopping 974 grams, so even though it is elegant in style you can see it is very hefty (that is about 2.25 pounds). This is an impressive and lovely aqua cluster that is good enough for all qualities (aesthetics, color, size, lack of damage) that could grace any serious mineral collection, is worth a lot of money, and is somebody's chance to own a killer at a reasonable price.
