Item Description

When it comes to Aquamarine, Pakistan is the most productive country for specimens in the modern age of mineral collecting. Some of the very finest quality Aquamarine specimens come from the various pegmatites in the Pakistani Himalayas, especially the pieces from around Shigar. This locality has produced some of the most exciting Aquamarine specimens in recent years. This specimen features a good quality, sharp, lustrous, GEM/gemmy soft blue color prismatic crystal of Aquamarine sitting on a large, blocky, off-white color crystal of Microcline. The piece is in great shape overall, and the crack in the center of the piece is not damage, nor is it a repair, but simple the result of tectonic activity while the piece was in the ground. A very attractive big display specimen with great aesthetics and from this most pretigious of Pakistani pegmatite localities. From the collection of John Arnaud. Valued at $2200 high retail.
