Aquamarine in Quartz (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A rare Alpine Aquamarine specimen from Switzerland. The label states that it's from a place called "Torrone di Cazorra", but I can't find a listing for this locality in any database (it could be from Naccio Alp, but that's only a guess). If anybody has any information on specifically where this piece is from, please feel free to let us know. With that said, this is an interesting piece featuring rich blue crystal sections of Aquamarine in Quartz matrix. It's essentially a reference specimen, but how often does one have the chance to purchase a Swiss Aquamarine. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
