Item Description

Aquamarine is the birthstone for March, and one of the most widespread varieties of Beryl in the world. Gem quality Aquas have been found in many world localities, but Brazil has been the leader in producing top quality material for decades. This stone is a beautiful pale blue Aquamarine from Brazil, completely natural (unheated) in color. The stone has an elongated "Octagonal" shape, but the cut is what is called a "Fantasy" cut, where the underside/pavilion/culet area of the gem has actually been carved to create the beautiful geometric patterns you see when the stone is viewed through the table. This particular style of cutting is seldom seen in any colored stones on the market today. The gem was cut by Brett Kosnar of who is a 4-time AGTA Spectrum Award winning gem cutter. The stone would make a fantastic center stone for a pendant, or simply as an addition to your gemstone collection, or a fantastic gift for someone with a birthday in March. The high retail price on this gem is $1,151.50
