Item Description
This Aquamarine specimen was mined by Richard Kosnar in the late 1970's and his diggings produced some of the finest color, unheated Aquamarine in the world. Most of these crystals are not gem quality, but this crystal is pretty gemmy, and certainly better than the majority of them that I have seen. This crystal is an attractive, terminated, fairly sharp, gemmy, hydrothermally etched, rich blue color crystal of Aquamarine from one of the more obscure localities for the material. When viewed on the "c" axis, one can see a distinct, deep blue hexagonal cross section, an indication that the crystal grew in different stages, like the rings of a tree. One simply does not see these beauties offered very often on the market anymore. It is definitely one of the best blue color crystals of this material that I've ever offered for auction. Don't miss out on this great North American gem crystal classic.
