Item Description

This Aquamarine specimen was mined by Richard Kosnar in the late 1970's and his diggings produced some of the finest color, unheated Aquamarine in the world. Most of these crystals are not gem quality, but this crystal is approximately 90% gem clarity, which is great for the material. This crystal is an attractive fairly sharp, gemmy, hydrothermally etched, rich blue color crystal of Aquamarine from one of the more obscure localities for the material. Pretty cool and sculptural, and it is interesting for collectors from several standpoints: It's a great gem crystal, it has really unique and attractive form, the color is superb, and it's from one of the hardest U.S. localities to obtain good gem crystals. One simply does not see these beauties offered very often on the market anymore. It is definitely one of the best blue color crystals of this material that I've ever offered for auction. Don't miss out on this great North American gem crystal classic.
