Mount Antero is THE locality in Colorado for gem species. Large Mt. Antero aquarmarines such as this are very uncommon and are seldom available. This complete all-around crystal has excellent gemminess and luster, with good color. The internal crazing adds character to the sides and very glassy termination on the piece. The nifty notch and chip off of the sidecar crystal are hidden on the back. Otherwise, the crystal is pristine. This is a historic old-timer, having been in the John Ydren Collection. His card indicates, that he purchased the piece in May, 1965 for $15. Not cheap in those days! valued at $1500-$2000 for size and quality. 58 grams.
