Item Description
Here's something you don't normally seen in Beryl. Beryls are typically loved for the wide range of colors, larger size stones and amazingly clean material. One of the most unusual occurences in Beryl gems is the "cat's eye" effect. This is seen in gems such as Tourmaline, Sillimanite and Chrysoberyl, but you don't see many of these Beryls of any variety that show the cat's eye effect. This particular stone is a very attractive "Oval Cabochon" cut Aquamarine Cat's Eye gem from Pakistan. Even though this stone does not show a razor sharp eye, it looks good in person under a strong penlight. It's a unique stone with a very soft blue color, and I have a hard time finding good cat's eye Aquas these days. At the $100 starting bid, this gem is a steal as it came to us priced at $430.00 retail.
