Aquamarine Gem XL on Calcite (RARE & excellent combo)

Item Description

Aquamarine and calcite combinations are RARE from the pegmatites of Pakistan and this is an outstanding and aesthetic example. A striking, 7.5 cm, totally gem aquamarine with fine light blue color is dramatically set in front of a large, 9.5 cm, well-formed, flattened and frosted calcite rhomb. The aqua has a very nifty modified pinacoidal termination and is essentially pristine. The contacts on the lower half of the aqua, where other crystals once lay, have no damage, per se. The three schorl sections add contrast and pizzazz. The noted bruising to the right edge of the rhomb and lower front of the rhomb certainly has only minimal impact to the superior quality and rare combination of this exceptional specimen.
