Aquamarine and Muscovite

An aesthetic and sculptural 4.0 cm cluster of three intergrown, gemmy, aquamarine crystals is pleasingly set on the pearlescent muscovite plates and massive feldspar matrix. The gemmy, lustrous, layered, textbook hexagonal aquas have fine ice-blue color highlighted by the striking darker blue gem terminations below the glassy, satin luster pinacoidal terminations with nifty secondary aquamarine overgrowths. The large aqua is 3.7 cm tall. A bit of bruising and edge wear noted on the front of the large crystal below the termination is certainly only a modest detraction. This showy and shapely small cabinet combination is from a new find in the famous Nagar District of Pakistan.
