Item Description

A 6.5 cm terminated aquamarine crystal dominates this dramatic and sculptural large matrix specimen from this well-known pegmatite, near the famous Gillette Quarry. The pegmatites share similar mineralogy and specimen quality (MINDAT). The lustrous, translucent crystal is bluish-green and has a white coating. A smaller, 4.3 cm aqua is a fine accessory to the feldspar and quartz matrix. Back lighting highlights the rich interior color saturation. This is a striking 360-degree specimen and the noted repair is certainly acceptable in the context of pegmatite species. Ex David Burgess Collection.
