Item Description
A wonderful U.S. gemstone from the historic locality at Mt. Antero in central Colorado. This locality is one of the most well known pegmatites in the United States, and certainly has gained even more fame from its exposure in magazines, books and even on television on the Prospectors program. This stone came from a crystal collected by Brian Kosnar in 1999. For an Antero gem, it's good quality with VVS clarity, and a soft blue color. It has a classic "Pear" cut. One does not often have the opportunity to purchase U.S. gemstones, and to have a piece from a locality that exists 13,000 feet above sea level is even more impressive! There is a fast-growing market for gems from the United States, and we have had great difficulty keeping them in stock, whether it be Rhodochrosite from the Sweet Home Mine in Colorado, Benitoite from California, Hiddenite from North Carolina, Red Beryl from Utah, etc, so don't miss out on this one as they are becoming difficult to obtain today.
