When it comes to Aquamarine, Pakistan is the most productive country for specimens in the modern age of mineral collecting. Some of the very finest quality Aquamarine specimens come from the various pegmatites in the Paki Himalayas, especially the pieces from around Shigar. This locality has produced some of the most exciting Aquamarine specimens in recent years. This specimen features a pair of good quality, sharp, lustrous, GEM/gemmy, soft blue color prismatic crystals sitting atop crystallized white Feldspar crystals. For my money the most desirable matrix for Aquas is white Feldspar. A very attractive little display specimen with great aesthetics and color contrast from this most pretigious of Pakistani pegmatite localities. Valued at $400-$500.
