Item Description

When it comes to Aquamarine, Pakistan is the most productive country for specimens in the modern age of mineral collecting. Some of the very finest quality Aquamarine specimens come from the various pegmatites in the Paki Himalayas, especially the pieces from around Shigar. This locality has produced some of the most exciting Aquamarine specimens in recent years. This specimen features a few excellent, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, soft blue color prismatic crystals of Aquamarine flaring out of a matrix comprising white Albite, nearly and Microcline. Virtually all of the Aquamarine crystals are undamaged, and one predominant crystal is not only doubly-terminated, but is aesthetically sitting atop the specimen! The piece can be displayed from several angles, and for my money, the best matrix for Aquas is white Feldspar. A very attractive matrix display specimen with great aesthetics and color contrast from this pretigious Pakistani pegmatite locality. Valued at $3500 in the inventory. A very three-dimensional and certainly worthwhile display specimen for any collector of gem pegmatite minerals.
