Item Description

Showy and attractive small cabinet aquamarine with a nifty side car aqua on one side from the well-known pegmatites at Chumar Bakhoor. The stout, gemmy to translucent, soft ice-blue, textbook hexagonal crystal is glassy and lustrous. The modified pinacoidal termination and internal veils add character. The aquas have an interesting "crack" where the piece was broken due to tectonic activity and later crystallized again, and even allowed a bit of iron to flow inside the opening. Complete all-around nearly pristine. A lightly bruised edge on the front below the termination and an out-of-sight contact lower on back where another crystal once lay, but has no damage, per se are noted, but have minimal impact to this gemmy and interesting aquamarine. A gemmy, good quality, showy display specimen of this classic material from Chumar Bakhoor. Mass is 75 grams.
