Brazil has for many decades been one of the great gem-producing nations in the world. A good amount of gem quality Beryl has been coming out Brazil since the mid 20th century. Beryl is a diverse gem species, found around the world in almost every color of the rainbow. The blue variety of Beryl is Aquamarine, which is typically the most commonly seen variety on the market. This particular gem is a beautiful soft blue Aquamarine with virtually eye clean with an "Oval Brilliant" cut. It's a decent size stone for a pendant if you so wish, but it would also stand alone as a nice little single stone in a gem box. Aquamarine is the birthstone for March, so this would make a nice gift for someone with a birthday in that month.
