Item Description
An aesthetic and striking Indian combination piece from recent finds at Jalgaon. A dramatic, beautifully placed, 6.5 cm, bi-colored, apophyllite crystal is the obvious focal point of this fine piece. The gemmy and lustrous crystal has a nifty flat-topped, pyramidal termination. The termination is water-clear and colorless and rests atop a very light green, lower portion. One face of the apophyllite is preferentially coated with sugary, drusy quartz. Pearlescent, flesh-pink stilbite surround the big crystal and colorless calcite rhombs are noted in the lower left foreground. A beautifully well-composed combination specimen with a minimun of periphery wear. The basalt flows at Jalgaon continue to provide an amazing diversity of zeolite specimens and this is a fine example.
