Apophyllite with Stilbite (Mullane Coll.)

Item Description

A striking and very aesthetic apophyllite specimen from Jalgaon, India. A gemmy and glassy, 3.5 cm, very blocky, multi-hued apophyllite is dramatically set in a well-prepared, bowl-shaped vug. The layered, skyscraper-like, apophyllite crystal is green at the base, grading up to light green and has a very gemmy, colorless termination. The termination is partially hoppered. Well-placed and nearly hidden behind the apophyllite crystal are several, large, pearlescent stilbite blades to 1.9 cm. Yes, there are thousands of Indian apophyllite specimens out there, but this piece has a large, striking, blocky apophyllite crystal, that few can compare with.
