Item Description
Gorgeous, radial sprays of gemmy, prismatic, apophyllite crystals with beautiful green phantoms are aesthetically scattered on a HUGE, undulating, mounded basalt matrix which is covered with pearlescent stilbite blades. This is from the the striking finds in a well at Rahuri about 8-9 years ago now - a very distinct and known style amidst all others to come from India over the years. These specimens caused a huge stir at Munich, St. Marie and Tucson in around 2001, and were arguably the most important apophyllite find in India in the last 30 years since the mint sprays of the late 1980s. The bowtie spray on the edge is 5.0 cm. Essentially pristine, this is one of the finest monster-sized combination specimen of these species that we have seen offered for many years. The large size is incredibly impressive and must be seen to be truly appreciated. The specimen was offered at a recent outside Natural History Auction and was valued at $5000-6000 to the public. Wieght and mass: 16.1 pounds or 7.3 kilos. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!!
