Apophyllite on Stilbite

Although apophyllite from India is frankly almost laughably common on the market in some form - the Deccan basalt plateau is, after all, just so huge there are so many tiny bubbles spread out there, yet still you can find the occasional special quality of specimen that rises above the majority. This is a really beautiful specimen for the centered balance of the apophyllite sitting smartly and perfectly vertical in a balanced pocket of salmon pink stilbite. It is simply gorgeous. The piece reminds me of a scene of a Buddha in a temple, somehow. It has a stark simplicity to the vertical apophyllite that creates a nice and unusually clean contrast to the matrix. The apophyllite is intact and pristine, with a few lateral thn fractures but held together by the surrounding stilbite, and so it is not broken or repaired. It is 6 cm tall, and 2 cm thick, 2 cm wide.
