Apophyllite on Stilbite

Item Description

An UNUSUAL and aesthetic specimen from recent finds at Jalgaon, India. The lustrous, very glassy, light sea-green apophyllite crystals have two, unusual traits: the crystals have, blocky, tabular form, which is very uncommon; and the crystal edges have RARE and nifty, darker color-zoning. I do not recollect having seen apophyllite color zoning like this before in Jalgaon pieces. As you can see, the pristine apophyllites are beautifully set on the contrasting, off-white stilbite crystal-covered basalt matrix.
