Item Description
A fantastic and RARE large coated pseudomorph from Jalgaon. The surreal tapered and flattened specimen is drusy quartz replacing a striking very large twinned calcite crystal. The broken hollow end reveals the filled tube, where the precipitating fluids flowed, adding pizzazz. Very glassy, water-clear to translucent, tetragonal pyramidal apophyllite crystals, to 3.0 cm (doubly terminated), plus a few scattered, contrasting rare zoned brown pearlescent stilbite blades are preferentially deposited on only one side of the piece, with great effect! The piece resembles and reminds us of the famous 30.8 cm "cricket bat" specimen, that was formerly in the Dr. Steve Neeley Collection. Ex Ted Bartels Collection. Pristine. Value?? We feel $1000-1500 is fair for such a unique large Indian pseudomorph with striking accessories.
