Apophyllite on Calcite

Item Description

A sparkling combination specimen from this well-known locale. Tiny, scintillating, gem apophyllite crystals fully drape almost all of the glassy, calcite disks. Only the center of the prominent, large, 4.0 cm calcite is uncovered and shows the very glassy, water-clear nature of the calcite crystals. Tiny apophyllites also cover the gray matrix crust. Pristine, showy and excellent combination material recovered in 2005.
