Apophyllite-KOH (DT)

Item Description

Exceptional single crystal of Hydroxyapophyllite from the well-known Wessels mine. The tan, translucent crystal has gemmy regions within, and the luster is superb. Undoubtedly the most fascinating aspects of this crystal are the terminations. Each termination is stepped and staggered, creating an unusual and striking appearance not unlike that of a square rosette. There is minor contacting and edgewear at the bottom, but it is really insignificant and doesn't affect the display of the crystal at all. A distinctive thumbnail.
