Item Description
Superb cluster of about one dozen rectangular prisms of Hydroxyapophyllite on a Manganite matrix. The Hydroxyapophyllites have excellent, smooth to striated luster, are partially gemmy, and are nearly colorless. Note this is not the more common Fluor-variety of Apophyllite. This is much rarer, and these crystals are choice. Many are nearly cubic, with the largest about 1.1 cm on edge. One of the best I have seen from Wessels in overall aesthetics (although admittedly the crystals are not big), and those are the best for any other location for this apophyllite species.
