Apophyllite and Stilbite (Smale Coll.)

Item Description

A beautiful and aesthetic combination specimen from Jalgaon and the Steve Smale Collection. A 3.0 cm, pearlescent, stilbite blade is jauntily angled on the side of a glassy, gem-like, bi-colored, blocky, apophyllite crystal. The striking, water-clear, colorless, modified pinacoidal termination rests atop a pleasing mint-green body on a sloping, drusy quartz-covered basalt matrix. Very fine, pristine combination material from this noted locale. Steve is renowned for his taste, aesthetics and lack of specimen damage. He never collected less than very high quality material. This is a distinct find from around 1985, give or take. The combination and habits are completely characteristic of this desirable find.
