Item Description

Most Indian apophyllites are more of a kind, similar in style to previous pockets and styles. This one leapt out at me, as a very dramatic and different kind of specimen. The color is an intense MINT GREEN, not what you normally see in pale and offcolor hues of mint. When backlit, it positively glows with color! The crystal, actually a compound single crystal, is 9 cm end to end, and very fat and 3-dimensional. It looks something like a squat bowtie, actually. Perched on basalt matrix, it displays unusually well, and is trimmed to enhance the crystal cluster on its natural matrix pedestal. Essentially complete all around, this is a dramatic display-quality specimen of a "different style" that appealed to me. Valued $2000. 450 grams
