Item Description

The various Alpine-type clefts at Alchuri have produced some magnificent mineral specimens over the last 15 years or so. Most people are probably familiar with Epidote/Clinozoisite and Titanite specimens from this locality, but it has produced some interesting "Alpine"-type associations specimens. This particular specimen reminds me of specimens I've seen from the in the Tyrol area of the Alps. Sharp, gemmy, lustrous, light pink tabular hexagonal crystals of Apatite measuring up to 1.2 cm are associated with sharp, rhombohedral chocolate brown colored crystals of Siderite measuring up to 1.1 cm. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the piece is that it features metallic reddish, reticluated, acicular crystals of Rutile showing the well known "Sagenite" growth. Hard to photograph but really cool to see in person. An attractive specimen from this amazing locality in Pakistan. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock.
