Item Description
For those who don't know, Richard Kosnar mined the Sweet Home for a few years during the late 1970's and managed to collect some excellent specimens. This piece is from one of the first pockets that Rich opened when he started mining the Sweet Home with Dave Bergman (Tresa Kosnar's father). Apatite is rather rare in my experience from the Sweet Home. This specimen features a single sharp, lustrous, gemmy, bicolor (green and colorless) Apatite crystal measuring 4 mm associated with Pyrite and Quartz on matrix. It should be noted that the Pyrite and Quartz are partially broken and not completely crystallized. This piece was collected in 1977 out of a very small pocket that only produced a handful of these Apatite specimens.
