Item Description

Panasqueira is one of the more classic "modern" European localities. Although the area is defunct, it produced some amazing specimens about 40 years ago. It is certainly one of the most distinctive localities in the world and it has produced some amazing Apatite specimens. This piece features a few tabular, translucent, greenish color Apatite crystals measuring up to 2.3 cm which are intermixed with lovely gun-metal silver, highly lustrous, prismatic Arsenopyrite crystals measuring up to 4.1 cm along with a cluster of matte-luster Sphalerite measuring 4.2 cm across plus accenting tan color Siderite rhombs. The Apatite crystals have some minor edge wear, but overall, it's a very attractive specimen from this well-known mining district. The piece can be displayed from a few angles, and these specimens are simply not seen on the market these days.
