Item Description

Gemmy and lustrous, yellow-green, hexagonal, apatite crystals are richly scattered in this showy CABINET specimen from the well-known iron mine at Cerro de Mercado. The main crystal is very gemmy, pristine and is 2.7 cm. Matrix specimens of this size are not that common. Old material from the 60s or older. Ex University of Texas at Austin Barron Collection (Colonel Barron was a well-known El Paso dealer and his collection and dealer stock were gifted to UT in the mid 1960s after his death), R. Wallace Knapp and James Webb Collections.
