Item Description

From the famous finds of about 2003-2004, this is an example of a very complex apatite group species. I have seen them labelled as fluor-hydroxyapatite and other apatite varietals with surnames. I am not sure what the scientists ended up using for its exact classification now, years later - but it is an oddity in the apatite world. But, to me, its just a very neat, blue apatite with wildly unusual crystal habit. Hard to find, today, on the market. This specimen is notable because it shows actual CRYSTALS of the feldspar matrix, whereas most apatites found in this deposit were simply on shards and fragments. COMES WITH CUSTOM LUCITE BASE FOR DISPLAY ($200 base)
