Apatite on Albite (Zukowski Coll.)

Item Description

Glass-like, incredibly lustrous, translucent, bottle-green, apatite crystals are aesthetically clustered on starkly contrasting, snow-white, albite crystal matrix on this very fine miniature from the major find at the renowned Sapo Mine a few years ago. The textbook hexagonal crystals are up to 1.3 cm and have nifty, lightly beveled edges. The bit of bruising on the large crystal is noted, but is certainly a modest detraction. These are some of the finest Brazilian apatites around and are highly desirable. Ex Zukowski Collection.
