Apatite (neon color)

Fine quality neon blue Apatite really only comes from two places in the world. The Bahia area of Brazil produces a very intense deep blue color of Apatite, but stones are often very small. The Madagascar material is most popular in the gem world, as its intense blue color truly looks like no other gem. I think you could compare the color to a saturated Paraiba blue Tourmaline, but these Apatites are unique. Recently these gems have made a comeback in the gem world as I've seen it on some of the home shopping jewelry channels lately. This particular stone exhibits a strong electric neon blue color with a "round brilliant" cut with very very slight inclusions.
